Mr Guy Verlinde will deliver us a very special gig with
his soulmate Aminata Seydi in an accoustic duet...
Lightnin’ Guy is the hardest working performer
in the Belgian blues & roots scene.
After Blue Blot & the Electric Kings, Belgium has
a new top act that not only conquers the hearts
of the blues-and-roots lovers in Belgium,
but also is on the brink of a breakthrough onto
the European stages.
Since his first show in May 2008 he is on a crazy
rollercoaster ride. During the first half-year on the road
Lightnin’ Guy played more than 40 shows, toured
through the Netherlands & Austria and recorded his
debut album „Live from the Heart“.
In 2009 he did over 70 shows & in 2010 he played
130 shows, played on the legendary Peer Blues,
Kwadendamme Blues & Gouvy Jazz-Blues Festival.
It was for Parsifal Records an honour to sign Lightnin’ Guy.
We first released his debut album on our Blue Sting label.
Today Lightnin’ Guy is considered a real hot live sensation
and continues to conquer the hearts of the blues & roots lovers
in Belgium & Holland. Nowadays he plays the biggest festivals
and already shared the same bill as John Fogerty, Jeff Beck,
Steve Winwood, John Mayall , Joe Bonanmasa, Derek Trucks, ...
Lightnin’ Guy also opened concerts for The Fabulous Thunderbirds,
Joe Louis Walker, Canned Heat, Eddie C. Campbell,
Sherman Robertson, Dr. Feelgood, The Nighthawks, Ian Siegal ...
As his slide & harpstyle are very emotional, unique & authentic,
a Lightnin’ Guy show is always very energetic.

real things“. A Lightnin’ Guy show is all about energy
and total surrender to the audience. This makes him
a real crowd pleaser. By playing in the ‘Louisiana swamp &
Chicago slide & harp’-tradition, he always succeeds in making
everybody dance and sing along to his tight, groovy,
honest riffs & licks.
Lightnin' Guy is not only an excellent musician & singer,
but also an all-round entertainer. It does not matter
for whom he plays nor where, people always start
shaking their asses and having a mighty good time,
when Lightnin’ Guy is on stage.
Aminata Seydi was born on 25th of March 1970 out of
a Austrian mother and a Senegalese father.
Growing up in Vienna she started singing at an early age.
She experimented with many different styles: blues, jazz,
rock, electro, dance, hiphop,...
Started her career very close to her roots with Senegalese
musicians Jimmy Fall and Prince Zeka. But by meeting
legendary bass player Kris Jefferson (US), her voice
& career took a leap on to another level by jamming weekly
at the Vienna clubs Luftbad & Ost Club, learning the soul
and funk encyclopedia in no time and mastering
the art of improvising.
Her powerful stage performance always makes the people
happy and shaking.
Aminata is an allround singer, worked & recorded with
many Austrian and international bands, dj's, projects:
Shanti Roots, Megablast, Karl Mo%u0308stel, Sweet Susie,
Gilbert Burton, Soulbirds, Floh Bradley from Die Hardbradler,
Gospel meets Vienna and Vienna Gospels, Busy People,
Hip Hop Dance Theater Soul Asphalt, Double Standard,
Xalis, Michelanglo, Sam Brisbe, Romazul, Bella Wagner,
Harry Stojka and Melinda Stoika, Rhytmen, Dj Philipp van het Veld,
Dj TitAn, DJ Muks, Cosmic Hustlers, ... and performed with legendary
American soul singers Hubert Tubbs from Tower of Power & Eddie Cole.
After working in the shadow and on the side of numerous artists
it is now time for Aminata Seydi to get up, stand up and
do her thang! Backed by her band of excellent musicians,
she blends the best from funk, soul & contemporary music,
with her Senegalese roots into a very groovy cocktail.
Her solo performances are very intensive.
This small lady with the big smile & voice knows how
to groove and make the people move. It doesn’t matter
for who or where she performs: If Aminata Seydi is going on stage,
she shines like a star lightnin' up the hearts of the audience
making them shake their asses and having a mighty good time!
