CHARLES DESPRES

AND THE MIDNIGHT CREEPERS

bitten once for all by the blues in 1992
during a stay of one year in the US,
charles was immediately captivated
by the atmosphere of the concerts,
people from all layers of social and
cultural backgrounds gathered to have
a good time.

back in france he formed his first band
"the Blue Cats" - and also performed solo
acoustic blues in the spirit of the early 20th
century. he kept traveling extensively to the US
to meet with bluesmen in their daily
environment and learn directly from the source.
his repertoire now consists of classic blues
and original compositions.
since 2001, charles comes as a trio
with impressive steve perortte on drums
and philippe schwab on solid bass.

CHarles's music is handmade, there's much
space left for improvisation. his songs are just
pieces, samples of life - sometimes happy,
sometimes sad.

a very cool blues evening, warm sounding
and honest performance not to miss!
