PABLO REYES

Born in Mexico City in 1984, Vocalist/Guitarist and
Composer Pablo Reyes is part of the new
generation of innovative Latin American musicians.

Graduated from the Superior School of Music in
Mexico, Pablo Reyes is now studying at the
prestigious Conservatory of Amsterdam
with well-known Dutch guitarists such as
Jesse van Ruller, Maarten van der Grinten and
Martijn van Iterson.
Raised in a musical environment, Pablo began
at a very young age to listen to Latin American
singer/songwriters, Mexican Traditional
and Ethnical Music, and learned most of the
cultural traditions of his continent.

Before turning 5 his family moved to Brazil
for a year, and this experience turned into
something that would never disappear
in his musical memory.
He is able to express his intimacy with
Brazilian music and traduce it into a
creative tool.
When it’s time for composing, Pablo not only
explores the roots of Mexican traditional music
but brings most of it’s rhythms into a contemporary
jazz sound, creating a unique spicy fusion
that evolves into a new conception of
improvisational music.

The label “World Music” could describe just a
little bit of the sound of this artist, but it would not
fit completely in the extraordinary creativity
of this young musician.
Pablo Reyes possesses an extremely organic
and refreshing sound that comes from his
vocal approach to music.
Guitar and voice at the same time, creating a
wonderful counterpoint of energy.
Hot flavors traduced to sound, bringing the audience
to a higher level of perception.
