FRED BARRETO GROUP 
 
FRED BARRETO is a self-taught guitarist who first picked up
an electric guitar at the age of 17, in his native
Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.

He soon realized his passion and decided to pursue music professionally.
Very quickly, Fred started performing and recording as a sideman,
playing with many different blues and rock artists from Brazil and USA.
In 2005, Fred performed on the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland
and decided to stay in Europe. Living in Lisbon, Portugal, he played
as a bandleader with the Fred Barreto Blues Trio.
He has been influenced by many blues and rock guitarists such as Albert King,
Freddie King, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Page, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Voughan and etc.

Moving to Germany in October 2007, he started to performing with
some blues artists, playing on Festivals and Clubs from Germany,
Luxembourg, Belgium and France. 
 
This week's session, also being the last thursday blues session of the season, 
Fred will surround himself with a whole bunch of special guests ;)
