NO SQUARE

No Square" founded in July 1994 consists of saxophonist Matthew Durmarque,
pianist Matthew Roffé, bassist Andre Hahne and drummer Yannick Oppliger.
The musicians have individually and collectively created original pieces
you can find in their seven albums: "The Fly" (1996), "Green Apples" (1997),
"Footprints" (1999), "The Case à Chocs" (2000 ) and "That's where Doregon" (2002),
"Double Album Studio & Live" (2005) and "The Hangman" (2008).

"No Square" has performed in many places around Europe and further in the past 15 years.
Collaborated and shared stage and other projects with many other artists, you can check

his tunes are mostly from the '50s through the '70s, but
only original tunes, no oldies sender kind of thing ;/
Funk, soul, latino, rock too, definitely some reggae and some roots
and at time even some disco ;)

HERITAGE BLUES COMPANY

after a recent change in their line-up, these friends of ours
have really spread their wings. i think they all met at the
Bluesschoul Differdeng in 2008 and have decided to keep the
adventure rolling, it is now a nice and rocking show they perform.
it sounds right, it sounds true and they really have this little
something special, not speaking of their lovely freaked out singer ;)

come and check it out, it's definitely another one of them
fun thursday nights not to miss!

BOSSY BITCH

unfortunately OK COWBOY! had to cancel their gig
from tonight... we'll be happy to welcome them
in the near future again...

so as replacement we found you one of the rockiest
project in the country, BOSSY BITCH! ;)
these friends of ours are simply a bomb of energy
and groove...

Daniela Kruger is a bulgarian bassist based
in Luxembourg for a little while now.
In the mean time, studying at the Jazz Department
of the CML, she keeps playing the music she loves
and digs: Rock.

On this special event, she surrounds herself
with a nice bunch of local stars and they perform
the songs of reknowned blues-rock and rockartists
such like Joe Bonamassa or Richie Kotzen...

a unique project, with Tom Heck, Thomas Tosch,
Lata Gouveia and William Bur.

TOM HECK TRIO

tom heck is certainly one of luxembourg's youngest
yet biggest emancipating talents.
he's back in LiquID with his now confirmed trio,
sided by tiziano felicini on solid bass and driven by
a steady and impressive michel meis on drums.

This trio plays a clever and moving blend of blues,
flirting with jazz and fusion at times - tom likes it all,
he's young and he dares and it works amazingly!

CEDRIC HANRIOT GROOVE TRIO

Recording artist, composer, arranger, producer, sound designer, educator

M. Hanriot would generally be considered a latecomer to the world of music. After earning his Master’s Degree in Electronics & Digital Audio Processing at the age of 21, his life took an unexpected turn as he sat at the piano for the first time in his life. Then at this late age - 21 years of age, he started studying music and playing the piano.

Within only a few years, Fulbright recipient, French pianist pianist, composer, producer and arranger Cedric HANRIOT has performed and recorded with luminaries such as drummer Terri Lyne CARRINGTON (Stevie WONDER, Herbie HANCOCK), bass player John PATITUCCI (STING, Wayne SHORTER), bass player/singer Me’shell NDEGEOCELLO, drummer Cindy BLACKMAN (Lenny KRAVITZ), saxophonist Joe LOVANO, Grammy Awards winning singer DeeDee BRIDGEWATER to name a few.

Cedric HANRIOT has appeared at many prestigious performance venues worldwide including The Iridium New York (USA), the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (Canada), the Tanglewood International Jazz Festival (USA), the Universal Exposition 2010 (Shanghai, China) and the Jazz a Vienne Festival (F). Mr HANRIOT has also appeared at La Defense Jazz Festival Paris (F), Transe-Atlantique Festival (Morocco), at the famous NPR radio Talk Show “Says you” and the Victoria Jazz Festival (Canada).
Besides a Fulbright grant, HANRIOT has won major composition and solo prizes throughout the world including the Jazz at St Germain Festival, International Jazz Soloist Contest in Monaco and Enghien les Bains Festival. He has won the prestigious French-American Arthur King Peters Memorial Grant, the Mary Jane Earnhart Ellison Endowed Scholarship as well as scholarships to Berklee College of Music, Boston (USA) .
Cedric HANRIOT has studied with world-class artists such as Danilo PEREZ, Greg OSBY, Jean Michel PILC, Joe LOVANO, Hal CROOK.
Mr HANRIOT holds a Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering and Audio Signal Processing from the University of Nancy, France and a Degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, Boston (USA).

Current projects include his acoustic project called 'Cedric Hanriot French Stories' whose CD was released in February 2011 on Plus Loin/Harmonia Mundi and featuring Terri Lyne CARRINGTON and John PATITUCCI. The acoustic project recently toured Europe, Nicaragua, USA, Korea, China and Canada. 'Cedric Hanriot French Stories' plays Cedric ‘s original compositions as well as well-known French Folk Songs (Chanson Francaise, Brel, Ferre, Gainsbourg, Aznavour, Piaf) in a Jazz and contemporary style through the use of contemporary grooves such as groove, jazz, world and hip-hop.
In addition to his own projects, Cedric has collaborated with many other leading artists on piano, B3 Hammond Organ, keys, melodica and accordion. He has also composed, arranged, produced and sound designed for an array of musical styles such as Electro, Pop, RNB, Hip Hop, Blues, Jazz, Latin, World music, music for Video games/Jingles/Ads and capacities.

Mr HANRIOT is an active educator and has given many workshops in Europe, North America and Asia. Since 2003, he has enjoyed sharing his musical gifts through teaching at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood (CMDL) in Melun, France as well as at the Music Academy International (partner/BIN school of Berklee College of Music) in Nancy, France.

a few months ago as side project to his MG BB
dedication...

CARTE BLANCHE is one of the new concepts
of our tuesday jazz night where we invite
a young and local talent to organise his jazz night.

NIels Engel is one of the finest young
drummers and percussionist around.
After finishing his conservatoire here
in Luxembourg he went to study drums
and percussions in Amsterdam.

He is back in Luxembourg in the mean time
and we are really happy we can welcome him
on this occasion!
You'll definitely hear much more about him
in the future...

probably the heaviest gig we've had in LiquID so far.
i guess our friday night croud won't mind, would you?

thus we happen to burry Jesus Christ today, so i think
this is probably THE occasion ;)

Often described as furious, energetic, schizophrenic and passionate -Djevara play a unique and experimental blend of post-hardcore/punk rock and progressive, alternative metal that sees them as a determined force in the UK, European and international underground scenes. Fiercely independent and rooted in DIY, musically they chart ever more progressive territory; dense antagonistic melodies vying with pure, unfettered anger for attention to wrap around a viscerally personal urban poetry.

This is raw emotional music, but not for the faint of heart. The band are also active in a number of projects ranging from The Low Fidelity Disconnect arts project in North London to organising several DIY events and shows.
