CEDRIC HANRIOT's FRENCH STORIES:
GAINSBOURG WORLD

Pianist/composer Cedric Hanriot has just come out
of the studio having recorded his latest project "French
Stories" with such luminaries as Terri Lyne Carrington
and John Patitucci. Cedric has collaborated with the likes
of Dee Dee Bridgewater, Joe Lovano, Meshell Ndegeocello
and Cindy Blackman, and has won such prestigious awards
as a French-American Fulbright grant to Berklee College of Music,
the International Jazz Soloist Contests in Monaco, at the
Enghien les Bains Festival and at the Jazz at St Germain Festival.

The innovative "French Stories" project features Cedric’s originals
alongside well known French songs from artists like Jacques Brel,
Serge Gainsbourg, or Edith Piaf. Cedric has taken these songs
and turned them into contemporary styles such as Jazz, Hip-Hop,
Afro and World Music.

The new release of "French Stories" is scheduled for worldwide release
in 2011 on the Plus Loin disc label/Distribution Harmonia Mundi.

« Cedric is one of the most talented musicians I know. His wide range
of abilities from playing to arranging and sound design, makes him
a triple threat - and how amazing that he has accomplished so much
in a short 11 years of playing ! Cedric is destined for great things...”
Terri Lyne CARRINGTON, 2009 (drums with Herbie HANCOCK, Stevie WONDER)

“I was very impressed upon hearing his talent. He stood out amongst
the other musicians because he was taking more chances and venturing
beyond the boundaries of the typical bebop jam session style.
I’m also pleased to note his originality and scope as an artist.
Aside from his diligence and its corollary skill, he possesses a marked
musical originality beyond the rarity of his choice of instrument ”
Greg OSBY, 2009 (sax with Jack DEJOHNETTE, Steve COLEMAN, Jim HALL, Herbie HANCOCK)
