LUIS CARDOSO

Luis was born in May 7th, 1987 in a familiy of musicians, luis cardoso 02
in Salvador-Bahia-Brazil. After different music classes,
he took classes with Mou Brasil in 2005, and began to study
musical composition at the University of Bahia, where he stayed
for 5 semesters, taking part in different contemporary
music ensembles and jazz-groups.
During this time Luis also worked on many kinds of brazilian music,
playing and writing, with different groups. In 2007 he moved
to Germany, where he actually lives and studies at the
Hochschule für Musik Saar, with Joachim Schoenecker
and other great teachers/musicians like Claas Willeke, Georg Ruby,
Oliver Strauch, Anne Czichowsky, At the HFM-Saar he also gives
classes in musical perception.

Luis performs/performed with many musicians in Germany,
Brazil and other countries. People like Rainer Pusch, Peter Hinz,
Cristiane Gavazzoni (with who he made a tour in Japan with
in September 2008), Daniel Fleischmann, Jochen Brauer,
Die Redner, Bê, Paolo Sapia, and really many more...

This jazz quartet plays modern jazz with influence of brazilian
music and brazilian jazz. It's about understanding the world
through the perspective of the communication, spontaneous
ideas with beautiful tunes and swinging groove.
They met us at the Saarbrücker-Jazzscene. luis cardoso 01

Thomas is a great Sax player that studied in
Graz, Austria,
lived in Berlin and
has a lot to say.

Jochen is well known in our region,
surely one of the most
booked bass players,
with a great sound a lot of experience.

He studied at the Conservatory Luxembourg
years ago.

Luis and Christoph met themselves at the
Musikhochschule
in Saarbrücken, and really
enjoy always playing together
and developing their musically horizons.
The quartet exists since one year in this formation,
and to see how the music flows in the hands of these musicians
is a great experience!

come and enjoy ;)
