GUILLAUME CHERPITEL TRIO

Guillaume-Cherpitel-recadre

Guillaume Cherpitel started music and classical piano at the age of 6 years. After a period of discovery and learning other instruments (percussion lessons and courses of West Africa with Mamady Keita and Issa Dembelé , guitar ...) he naturally refocused on the piano.

In 2003 he joined the jazz department of the Conservatory of Nancy and graduated the Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) in 2009. Meanwhile, he continued to meet many musicians from different cultures with which he made experiences as leader and sideman .

Influenced by jazz, classical music, the traditional music of Africa, the countries of the east, latin america, funk and the groove in general, his first album " Circle & Variations" which brings his own compositions to light got released early 2009. They performed as a quartet at Nancy Jazz Pulsations festival the same year. He gradually played in various groups and finally initiates several projects as Mezclando Orchestra, salsa combo, including the Cuban singer Julio Lopez Vinent, his trio under his name, Jazz & Soul duet, trio and quartet....
